Q: What is the shipping and handling charge? how about tax?

A: Shipping and handling is flat rate $6 USD for orders less than $50 and $10 for orders greater than that. For orders desinated to U.S. 48 states, shippments are usuallysent via UPS or FedEx whenever possible. For orders desinated to other U.S. states or international orders, shippments are sent via United States Postal Service Registered Airmail. We charge 8.25% sales tax only for California addresses.

Q: What PDA models do you recommend?

A: We recommend the following name brand PDAs. All of them have Type II CompactFlash slot as well as WLAN 801.11b. The price is ranging from $200 to $500. You may want to search Froogle to find the current lowest price, or try Ebay for a used one.

Besides the above models, our devices and software are also fully tested on the following PDAs:

In fact, we are committed to support any PDA with an Intel XScale Processor and Microsoft Pocket PC 2003/2005 (officially called Microsoft Windows Mobile). If you have one of those PDAs and there is compatibility issue, we will acquire the exact same model of PDA as yours for our own testing to resolve any issue.

Currently we don't support other types of PDAs such as those based on Linux, PalmOS or Symbian. However, if demand warrants, we will add support. So please send us email if you want your PDA type to be supported.

Q: Do you still support PPC 2002?

A: Sorry, we dropped support for PPC 2002 after PPC 2005 is out. In other words, we only support PPC 2003 and 2005. You can easily upgrade your PPC 2002 PDA to PPC 2003. For instance, all of the following PDA models can be upgraded to PPC2003: iPAQ 3600/3850/3870/3970/5400, Dell Axim X5 and Toshiba E750. You can find a upgrade kit on Ebay for only a few dollars.

Q: What is your guarantee policy?

A: We offer 30 day money back guarantee. The returned device must in good condition. Refund is for the purchase price only. Shipping and handling charge is not refundable.

We also offer 6 months of part and labor warrenty. The warranty is for replacement only: if the device fails to perform the function it is designed to, then we will replace the device with the same or better model free of charge.

Q: Is the software free? Will I need to pay for software upgrade?

A: Handheld SamplerTM Basic is always free. Handheld SamplerTM Advanced version requires the purchase of a license. The main difference is that the advanced version allows you to set up wireless transmission to transmit acquired data in realtime to a database through a web server. All other features, including digital signal processing capabilities (e.g., digital filter, spectrum analysis, correlation functions) will remain in the basic version. See our software page for details.

Q: What about credit card security? Do you save credit card numbers on your server?

A: Our credit card transactions are handled by PayPal, a global leader in online payments. In fact, we don't even get to see your card number, let alone store it. So you can use your credit card confidently knowing that you are dealing with a well-known and reputable company.

You do not need to have a Paypal account to use your credit card on our web site.

Q: The model name of all your products starts with DAD. What does it stand for?

A: DAD stands for Data Acquisition Device. It is also the 3-leter interface name used in our software in Windows, just like those all too familiar "COM" or "LPT" names.
